  • Study visit in Lublin - May 2015

Representatives of Catholic University in Ruzomberok (Slovakia) and Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius (Lithuania) took part in the first study visit, which was held from 10 to 16 May 2015 in Lublin. During the visit representatives of foreign universities attended a meeting held on 14 May 2015 at lublin University of Technology. The meeting included presentations by Prof. Marzenna Dudzińska (Ph.D., D. Sc.), Deputy Rector for Scientific Affairs, and Alicja Siuta-Olcha, Ph.D., D.Sc. (Eng.), Associate Profesor, Deputy Dean for Faculty Development of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, as well as presentations by representatives of the University units, including: Library, Career Office, Office for Promotion and Cooperation, Entrepreneur Incubator, and the International Exchange Office. Moreover, the meeting included a discussion concerning good practices, and the representatives of the universities from Lithuania and Slovakia visited the campus of LUT, including the Library and one of the Faculties.   • Report on current solutions and best practices - October 2014 - June 2015

The report focuses on existing solutions and good practices connected with academic and non-academic offer for students from abroad, which could be adopted in Lublin. The survey for the report was conducted using the “desk research” method. 10 universities from different EU countries were analyzed. For the analysis were chosen:

  • the Warsaw University of Technology 
  • the Wrocław University of Technology 
  • the University of Split
  • the University of Murcia
  • the University of Tartu
  • the University of Copenhagen
  • Masaryk University
  • the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences
  • the Autonomous University of Barcelona
  • the Riga Technical University

The document discusses the investigated issues related to good practices divided into four categories: academic foreign-student affairs, non-academic foreign-student affairs, university internationalisation policies, issues involving Eastern-Partnership students. The survey was conducted and the report was written by the staff of International Exchange Office of LUT.   • Study visit at Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius – September 2015

The staff of International Exchange Office of Lublin University of Technology took part in the study visit with workshops organized on 13-19 September 2015 by Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. As part of the visit the participants observed good practices at MRU and familiarized themselves with recommendations of foreign experts on creation of academic and non-academic offer for students from Eastern-Partnership countries. The participants from LUT have also gathered materials essential for writing a report from the study visit. Moreover, the staff from International Exchange Office of LUT presented their University, summarized the report on current solutions and good practices, as well as presented the objectives of the specialty conducted in English that is being prepared at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of LUT. The staff of IEO of LUT also took part in the question-answer sessions, in the individual meeting with the representatives of Mykolas Romeris University and in the discussion on conclusions about the study visit and recommendations from the foreign partners.

  • Report from the study visit in Vilnius - October 2015

In October 2015 staff of International Exchange Office prepared a report from the study visit with workshops organized on 13-19 September 2015 by Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius. The report contains a summary of the visit, good practices of partner institutions (i.e. Mykolas Romeris University and Vilnius Municipality), recommendations of foreign experts, as well as conclusions and suggestions. The document will contribute to application of solutions in Lublin and Lublin universities, which would make the academic and non-academic offer aimed at foreign students more attractive. The document will also help to create new study programmes and specialties and to facilitate cooperation of universities and the municipality. The whole report (in Polish) is available here.

  • Study visit in Ruzomberok - November 2015

Staff of International Exchange Office of Lublin University of Technology took part in the third study visit within the Easter European University which was held from 22 to 28 of November 2015. The study visit was organized by the Catholic University in Ruzomberok (Slovakia). During the visit participants observed good practices of the partner university, visited the campuses of the Catholic University in Ruzomberok and Technical University in Kosice, and also took part in the discussion that summerized the meeting. Moreover, within the activities of dissemination of the project, Mrs Malgorzata Wilczynska took part in an invterview for the university’s students television. One of the more interesting points of the programme was a meeting with students of Catholic University in Ruzomberok, who are taking part in the mobility programmes, both incoming and outgoing. The meeting gave an opportunity to get acquainted with the experiences and opinions of mobility participants. This knowledge could be addressed in order to make the created specialty more attractive to foreign students.   • Preparing materials and creating a programme of study in the English language – July 2015 – March 2016

In July 2015 Lublin University of Technology began works on preparation of materials and creation of new second degree specialization at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering -Sustainable Building. During the works, among other things, curriculum content and educational outcomes for this new specialization in English were prepared. The educational outcomes are available in Polish on the webpage of LUT. The specialization aims at educating highly-qulified specialists with a knowledge in the scope of construction solutions for passive buildings. With Resolution 19a/2015 Environmental Engineering Faculty Council accepted the study programme and start of the specialization in February 2017.   • Conference summarizing the project and promoting its results – September 2016

On 30.09.2016 the staff of LUT and the partner universities are taking part in the wrap-up conference of the Eastern European University project, a part of the Eastern Europe Initiative Congress organized by the Lublin City Office. PhD Mariusz Skwarczynski, Assistant Professor at the Department of Indoor and Outdoor Air Quality at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Mrs Malgorzata Wilczynska, officer from International Exchange Office of LUT are taking part in a panel discussion entitled Eeastern European University. The discussion summarizes the results of the project. It enables the exchange of experiences and observations, mostly on the cooperation between the University and the City of Lublin as well as creating a new specialization, Sustainable Building, at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering.  The detailed programme of the conference is available here.
